That’s how you involve your stakeholders
In order to make the dual career program a great success, it is important to involve all stakeholders. Making the vision and the clubs program visible towards stakeholders is therefore crucial. For this reason we created an overview of important stakeholders about:
who they are;
what they need to know;
how you could involve them;
guidelines for stakeholders to participate;
best practices for inspiration.
Athletes are responsible for their own development. The dual career program is implemented for them in order to make the combination of school and sports as easy as possible.
Coaches are for a big part responsible of the dual career progression of their athletes. It is therefore of great value that they have insight in their schedules and are able to see their players in a holistic view.
The role of a parent is to assist and support their child in their dual career. The program is a personal development process and the stimulation of autonomy is very important.
Ambassadors are persons who are, or have been, active within the club and have experience with a dual career or with facing difficult transitions. They are good with younger athletes and like to help them with possible struggles.
Educational institutions have a major challenge to regulate the development of their students as good as possible. Them being involved in dual careers of students could be very advantageous as it aims to serve the same goal.
Media could be local papers and radio stations to raise awareness for dual career and the project that the club is working on. It is important that you inform them about your activities.
